Dylan's Gonna Be On TV!

Thank goodness for Tivo! Good Day Sacramento is coming to the house tomorrow to do a LIVE, yes LIVE, interview for the morning show! After that, they'll do a taped interview for the afternoon/evening news cast on the local CBS affiliate. What on earth am I supposed to wear!!!! Gotta go clean the house now...

Trip To San Francisco

Part of being selected as a finalist meant that we won an all-expense paid trip to San Francisco. This included a week of exciting activites like wardrobe fittings, a top of the line dinner with the other contestants and all the Gap folks and crew. Gap left nothing out...the food was excellent, and there was even 'kid-friendly' food and games to keep the little ones happy.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the week was the actual photo shoot. It was so professional and 'real.' Stefano Azario is an amazing photographer and did such a wonderful job keeping Dylan happy and interested. Dylan was a trooper and didn't fuss at all. I can't wait to see the pictures!

Dylan has been selected as one of 20 semifinalists out of over 800,000 entries to win the GapKids Photo Contest. If he wins, he will be awarded a ton of cool prizes including a Gap wardrobe, a Kodak prize package, appearances in GapKids ads and an appearance on the Rachel Ray show!

For those interested in the background, a few months ago I submitted a picture of Dylan to the Gap Casting Call on a total whim - and then pretty much forgot about it. Imagine my surprise a couple weeks ago when I got a call saying that Dylan was chosen as one of only five in the category of baby boys! My intial reaction was, "Is this a joke?"

As a semifinalist, we were sent on an all expense paid trip to San Francisco last week where we participated in wardrobe fittings, group dinners and a professional photo shoot!

As you can imagine, I'm still totally shocked by the enormity of all of this, but it's been a pretty cool ride.
